Welcome to the Korean Acupuncture
and Moxibustion Society!
Since its establishment in 1973 as a section of Korean Oriental
Medical society, the Korean Acupuncture and Moxibustion Society
has put its efforts into the development of acupuncture and
moxibustion and promotion of people's health and has led various
academic activities.
The Society introduced the Korean acupuncture and moxibustion
in the symposiums held in Tokyo of Japan in 1974 and in Las
Vegas in 1975. Since then, the seminars for activation of the
Society and academic achievement of members as well as international
activities have been held continuously. Also, the Korean Acupuncture
and Moxibustion Society journal has been published continuously,
which has enabled recognition and support by the Korea Research
Foundation in 1998 for the first time in the oriental medical
science field.
The direction of promotion of the Korean Acupuncture and Moxibustion
Society in the future includes:
1. Study on the theory of acupuncture and moxibustion and treatment
technique;
2. Publication of the Korean Acupuncture and Moxibustion journal
and literature related to acupuncture and moxibustion;
3. Holding of national symposiums and seminars;
4. Cultivation and education of specialists according to the
specialist system; and
5. Publicity of the Korean Acupuncture and Moxibustion through
the web.
Particularly, according to the specialist system which enforced
on December 1999, a great deal of efforts is required for smooth
operation of training programs of high-level professional trainees
through oriental medical hospitals throughout the nation and
settlement of the system as a future-oriented system. Also,
the Society will do its best for the Society growing with all
its members through academic promotion and protection of rights
and interests of members, holding of domestic and international
symposiums, holding of monthly special lectures related to acupuncture
and moxibustion, etc. |
